1. A CALL TO SERVICE – This is a lay community based on servitude under that great exemplar of Christian spirituality, St. Joseph. For the little worker, St. Joseph is first and foremost recognized as the model of that ‘good and faithful servant’ (Lk12:42-44.. verse of inspiration), for the Most High indeed put him in charge of ALL he possessed – The Immaculate Virgin and the Incarnate Word of God. To further understand this unique privilege bestowed on this most Holy patron of the Church, we may do well to consider the words of Ven. Sor. Maria de Jesus of Agreda on the topic…
“But I cannot at this juncture withhold my words of congratulation at the good fortune of the most happy among men, Saint Joseph. Whence is it, O man of God, that thou among all sons of Adam shouldst have the happiness and good fortune of possessing God himself in such a manner, that He conducted Himself and was reputed as thy only Son? The eternal Father gives to Thee his Son, and the Son gives to thee his true and real Mother, and the Holy Ghost entrusts to thee his Spouse, while the whole blessed Trinity in its turn yields and espouses to thee as thy legitimate wife its chosen One, its only One, elect as the sun? Dost thou realize, O Saint, thy dignity? Dost thou know thy excellence? Dost thou understand, that thy Spouse is the Queen and Lady of heaven and earth and that Thou art the depositary of the inestimable treasures of God himself?
Be mindful, man of God, of thy entrusted pledge and know, that if thou art not envied by the angels and seraphim, thou hast certainly filled them with wonder and astonishment at thy good fortune and at the sacramental mystery connected with thy matrimony. Accept the congratulations for such great happiness in the name of the whole human race. Thou art the archive of the history of the divine mercies, the master and spouse of Her, who is inferior only to God himself; thou findest thyself enriched and prosperous in the sight of all men and of the angels themselves. Remember our poverty and misery, and remember me the most worthless worm of the earth: for I desire to be thy client, blessed and favored by thy powerful intercession.” (City of God, book 2, Ch. 22, Pg. 584, paragraph 769.)
In this light, the spirituality of the little worker is revealed as being that of a servant’s servant, the little servants of St. Joseph. For this reason, the basic guiding principle of this community of friends is derived from the Gospel of St. Luke17:7-9 (verse for memory/contemplation); selfless service for the pleasure of the Trinity through St. Joseph, the guardian of virgins.
Inspired by the faithful and silent conduct of this most wise guardian of the Word Incarnate, most chaste spouse of the Immaculate conception and the most ardent protector of the Holy Family of Nazareth, we profess our allegiance to serve under his tutelage towards the sanctification of the faithful, the unity of all Christians as one flock under one Shepherd and the salvation of all peoples in the earth; that the bleeding heart of the Divine Lamb of God may find refuge, true repose and complete healing (Jn17:1-3,9,20-24 – verse for mission)
SALT OF THE EARTH – Biblical discussions with members of our separated brethren under the group nomenclature of “Workers for Christ”.
2. PRIMARY (SPIRITUAL) WORKS OF THE LITTLE WORKERS
ADORATION –
DAILY MASS
Daily visits to the Blessed Sacrament for an hour
SELF SANCTIFICATION
Daily rosary with Catena
Complete avoidance of sin
Regular Confession
REPARATION
Encompasses all other prayers, corporal works, personal sacrifice/mortification, ordinary and extraordinary life events (etc.) undertaken or endured by the little worker; so as to hasten the arrival of the Glorious reign of the Redeemer of Mankind on earth… (Ps.110:1). These include perceived and actual shortcomings, mishaps and successes. In essence, the little worker, in the spirit of little Therese and St. Jose Maria Escriva, holds nothing more of self but offers all life events, both joyful and sorrowful, for the salvation of souls. It is noteworthy that these acts of reparation, in a certain sense, can be achieved in their essence through the virtues of humility and holy obedience (Mt11:25-30, Heb5:4-10).
3. SECONDARY (CORPORAL) WORKS OF THE LITTLE WORKERS
RAISING OF VIRGINS – Formation of young minds between the ages of 5 and 15 years, using the lives of the saints and a practical devotion to the Most Blessed Sacrament.
INTRODUCTION TO THE BREIVIARY – The reading of the breviary with the Parish community three times a day (5:30am, 2:30pm, 5:30pm); & 9pm at home.
ADVOCACY FOR FAITH – Educating Catholic faithful on the Doctrine of the Catholic Church via audio-visual presentations and seminars.
PROJECTION OF SAINTS – Encouraging a life of sanctity dedicated to the Divine Will by audio – visual and interactive learning of the lives of the Saints.
OUR LADY’S BLOCK ROSARIES – Establishment Block Rosary prayer groups for
School children (Our Lady Comfort of the afflicted Block Rosary)
Secondary school students (Our Lady Refuge of sinners Block Rosary)
University Undergraduates (Our Lady Help of Christians Block Rosary)
Seminarians (Our Lady Queen of Peace Block Rosary)
LEAVEN FOR THE CHURCH – Active participation in other pious organizations in the spirit of a little worker.
4. HEALTH CARE
One of our ministries,it is an online/virtual Clinic which has been supplying, for the past two years, qualified medical personnel (including qualified doctors, nurses medical laboratory technicians) into the homes of the impoverished, needy and less fortunate for quality healthcare which they would, otherwise, be unable to afford….
It consists of a 1 time “family” registration fee of ₦17,000 (regardless of family size… As long as they ALL live under the same roof) which is meant to cater for the necessary medical materials used in the family care and to sustain the devoted hands who deliver these life saving services.
Payments are usually made in installments (such as ₦500 per week till the fees are complete, which would be upwards of nine months; and there about; according to what the family can afford) and once the first payment is made; the entire family is privy to the full catalogue of services; for life. (Following a signed agreement that regular payments be maintained until entire registration is completed).
These profound services, by divine grace, have proven to be life saving for those who receive them, especially since the health care also presents a life saving option for those unfortunate women who find themselves contemplating an abortion (done illegally by fake medical charlatans as this is quite against the law in Nigeria) which, regrettably, occur more frequently than not.
